The Day in Maryland

We love visiting Michaela and Jenna when they are at Gran and Granddad's house in Maryland. Since it's only an hour away, we drive up for the day. We talk and play outside, eat together, and sometimes even watch movies.

This is a car. Addie picked it up as if it was a pair of binoculars. She never realized it was a car.

Michaela loves to teach.

Visit from the Valentine girls

Daddy always makes dinner fun!

Of course, we spent a morning at our favorite playground.

This fish was "snelling" Jenna's hand.

Other kids were climbing the rainbow. Jenna and Addie tried desperately to do the same.

Playdate with Haley

Addie's friend Haley (and her mom and baby brother) joined us for lunch and some playtime. Here the girls share some Veggie Tales candy.

Snow Day

We got about 5 inches of snow last night - just enough to cause traffic issues and thrill a 2 year old. She really liked her icicle,

Loved just running around leaving tracks,

Kicked and kicked,

(holding her icicle the whole time)

And repeatedly verified that snow is, in fact, really cold.

Snow play plus a sugar-crash from a Starbucks kid's hot chocolate meant Addie was ready for her nap!

Handmade Toboggan

Our beautiful and multi-talented cousin Katherine made this great hat from wool she got at her Vermont Farmer's Market.

Having grown up in NC, we call hats like this toboggans. I've been informed by my friends from the North that only a certain sled can be called a toboggan and that this would be called a ski cap. Old habits die hard - I think my girls will grow up calling them toboggans, too.
